CURATED SWAPS
Curated swaps are She Shop Swap’s marquee event. Held in the vibrant community of Leaside in Toronto, hundreds of carefully selected pieces of clothing and accessories are displayed attractively by style and size, creating an inviting atmosphere that is ready for the excitement of swapping. This event not only promotes eco-friendly practices but also fosters a sense of community among participants.

At selected swaps, you can shop from a selection of carefully chosen vendors who all have a commitment to sustainability and an eco conscious lifestyle.

COMMUNITY
Swapping clothes builds community through collaboration and connection. It allows people to exchange items and share stories about their favourite pieces of clothing. This practice promotes sustainability by reducing waste and the need for new clothing, benefiting the environment. Participants refresh their wardrobes, support local vendors leading to a more cohesive, eco-conscious community.
SHARING
All clothing that remains ‘unsnapped’ gets donated to New Circles Glow Clothing Bank or other organizations that support women. Glow is a free program for families and individuals with limited income to assist them with their clothing needs. New Circles services the Toronto areas of Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park, Victoria Village, amongst others .
EDUCATING
Vicki Hall founder of She Shops Swap, is available to speak on the important role that clothing swaps play in building a sustainable wardrobe. With her deep passion for conscious fashion and community-driven solutions, Vicki highlights how swapping not only reduces textile waste and extends the life cycle of garments, but also empowers individuals to make environmentally friendly choices without compromising style. Past talks have explored how to love your clothes longer, and offer practical tips for incorporating swaps into everyday wardrobe habits.
COLLABORATING
She Shops Swap actively collaborates with various businesses, organizations and individuals to host clothing swap events. These partnerships enhance the reach and effectiveness of each swap, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for participants. She Shops Swap has partnered with Fashion Takes Action to present the clothing swap at the ReMode event, which focuses on circular fashion practices. Additionally, She Shops Swap has collaborated with Spy Cider House and Distillery in The Blue Mountains and Smithery a boutique in Durham.
